There are few people that I respect more than my big bro, so when he says something is awesome I certainly take his advice. When he recomended that we visit the glorious city of Galway it shot to the top of our not-to-be-missed list. Galaway has the reputation as the party capitol of Ireland, unfortunately due to our limited time frame were didn't get to experience this aspect of the city.
Navigating our way to the down town area we parked to explore on foot. Much of the shopping district were cobblestone and pedestrian only; my oggling and lollygaging felt much safer without the threat of being pancaked by a passing vehicle. The city has a much more youthful vibe than any of our other stops, I suspect this can be attributed to the University College Galway's presence.
We stopped in a lovely pub/resturaunt for fish and chips to celebrate Brad's birthday. It was by far one of the best fish and chips that we have had in a very long time. We skipped the birthday dessert and instead took a stroll along one of the waterways that led out to the Atlantic Ocean/Irish Sea.
I regret that we didn't have more time to spend in Galway, but a return vist will certainly be in our future.
